Victorian websites

Domestic Violence Victoria
This is the peak body for women's domestic violence services in Victoria. http://www.dvvic.org.au

Immigrant Women's Domestic Violence Service is for Victorian women and children from culturally diverse communities who are escaping domestic violence. www.iwdvs.org.au

Heather Osland Home Page
This website provides information on the 'Release Heather Osland' campaign (Heather Osland was a victim of domestic violence who is now in prison in Victoria), legal issues and poetry. http://www.vicnet.net.au/~rhog/

CASA Forum - Centres Against Sexual Assault in Victoria
Centres Against Sexual Assault (CASAs) are free Victorian services for survivors of sexual assault. This site provides links to each Centre. http://www.casa.org.au/

South East Centre Against Sexual Assault
The South East Centre Against Sexual Assault is one of the CASAs mentioned above. It has a very comprehensive website which is divided up into sections for workers, for survivors, children, friends and family. http://www.secasa.com.au/

Office for Children - Victorian Department of Human Services
The Department of Human Services funds DVRCV and other services in Victoria. See link to 'About child abuse' to find info on reporting child abuse, family violence and sexual assault services, and publications on child sexual abuse, such as:

Victorian Community Council on Crime and Violence - Victoria
The Council is funded by the Victorian Department of Justice to work against violence. The site provides information sheets, research and reports on family violence. http://www.vccav.vic.gov.au

No to Violence
This is a peak organisation of individuals and agencies working for the prevention of male family violence. The specific focus is work with men to assist them to change and end their violent behaviour. Website includes self-help information for men who are abusive. http://www.ntv.net.au

Elizabeth Hoffman House Aboriginal Women's Refuge
Elizabeth Hoffman House is a refuge in Victoria with the primary function of providing emergency shelter for Aboriginal women and their children in need of care due to domestic violence. The site has information on myths and facts about domestic violence in indigenous communities. www.kiams.net/hoffman/

National websites

Australian Domestic and Family Violence Clearinghouse
Provides a comprehensive searchable database on research and resources available on domestic violence in Australia, as well as excellent issues papers and other publications. http://www.austdvclearinghouse.unsw.edu.au

National Child Protection Clearinghouse
National Child Protection Clearinghouse, which operates from the Australian Institute of Family Studies provides issues papers, research, reports, discussion forums, event information, prevention programs, and other resources for workers. http://www.aifs.gov.au/nch/index.html

Australian Centre for the Study of Sexual Assault (ACSSA)
This national centre aims to improve access to current information on sexual assault for policy makers and others. The website provides information on good practice programs, research, statistics and links on sexual assault. http://www.aifs.gov.au/acssa/

Australian Institute of Criminology
Provides a range of research reports and statistical summaries, including research on young people and domestic violence, femicide, stalking, etc. http://www.aic.gov.au

Men Against Sexual Assault (MASA)

Advocates for Survivors of Child Abuse (ASCA)
Provides information about ASCA, a national Australian organisation for adult survivors of child abuse, and has links to useful sites, especially those on recovered memories . http://www.asca.org.au/

Women's Council for Domestic and Family Violence Services (WA) This is the peak organisation for the domestic violence services and women's refuges in Western Australia. Provides information on what refuges offer, the consequences of domestic violence, etc. www.womenscouncil.com.au

DV Link (NSW)

NSW Women's Refuge Resource Centre The Resource Centre is the point of contact for NSW Women's Refuges. The website provides information about current projects, contacts for services, and publications, including the excellent kit for services 'It's Not Love, It's Violence'. http://www.wrrc.org.au/

Gold Coast Domestic Violence Service (QLD)
Provides information sheets and a guide to safety planning, and an overview of the Gold Coast Integrated Response to domestic violence.

Elder Abuse Prevention Unit (QLD)
This Queensland-based service provides information, support and referral service for anyone experiencing abuse or witnessing the abuse of an older person. The website has fact sheets and statistics about elder abuse. http://www.eapu.com.au/

Education Centre Against Violence (NSW)

Same Sex Domestic Violence (NSW) 'Another Closet' Site developed by the AIDS Council of NSW, provides a comprehensive guide on what to do about violence in same sex relationships. http://www.ssdv.acon.org.au/

Overseas websites

Higher Education Center Against Violence and Abuse: Electronic Clearinghouse (USA).
This is a comprehensive resource which has over 3,000 articles, reports, education and training resources, as well as links to useful sites. The Clearinghouse also provides an Art and Poetry Gallery on violence issues, personal stories, lists of newsgroups and discussion lists, and information on elder abuse, gay and lesbian violence, sexual abuse, and violence in schools. http://www.mincava.umn.edu/

Domestic Violence Shelter Tour and Information Site (USA) .
A creative site, which provides an online tour of a domestic violence refuge provided by Victim Services in New York. The tour also provides answers to some of the commonly asked questions about refuges. Site also contains general information and statistics on domestic violence. http://www.dvsheltertour.org/

National Clearinghouse on Family Violence (Canada)
A comprehensive website with research, fact sheets, publications on a range of family violence issues, including domestic violence, sibling violence, elder abuse, male victims, etc.

End Abuse: The Family Violence Prevention Fund (USA)
The Family Violence Prevention Fund is a national American organisation. Their site has lots of information about domestic violence campaings, statistics, and resource. http://endabuse.org/

Duluth Domestic Abuse Intervention Project (USA)
Provides information about the well-known 'Duluth Model', which provides an integrated response to domestic violence. The site has information sheets, a guide to measuring victim safety, program evaluation, power and control wheels, and other articles. http://www.duluth-model.org/

Violence Against Women Online Resources (USA)
Violence Against Women website, a project of the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence (US). The document library has over 100 articles on counselling, community responses and programs. http://www.vaw.umn.edu/

VAWNet National Online Resource Center on Violence Against Women (USA)
