Partners in Prevention (PIP) Launch and Forum (26 July 2007)

PIP is a new a state-wide network for community sector professionals who are working with young people to prevent violence against women. The network has been funded by VicHealth and will be based at DVRCV. The network will be launched with a forum on violence prevention and young people. Speakers include Dr Moira Carmody (University of Western Sydney), who is currently carrying out research on promoting sexual ethics among young people, and presentations from several Victorian violence prevention projects.

Practice Forum - Working together to Respond to Children and Young People (31 July)

A forum on responding to children and young people affected by family violence, presented by the Department of Human Services, Department for Victorian Communities and the Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria, with support from the City of Melbourne.

Keynote speakers include Prof. Cathy Humphreys – responding to children affected by family violence; and Robyn Miller – collaborative practice to enhance safety and healing for women and children. Other practictioners and policy makers will also present on child protection, courts, policing and other issues.
