Have you been abused by a boyfriend or girlfriend? How did you cope with it? What would you say to help anyone else who is going through the same thing?

We can put stories that contain advice to others on this site. Writing about what happened can:

  • help you to understand and recover from the experience and get on with your life.
  • help others who are being abused, by hearing about how you were able to cope and to get stronger.

Any info you send us will be confidential and will not identify who you are. Please read the following conditions which are designed to ensure your safety before submitting to us. By submitting your story to us, you indicate you agree to these conditions.

Conditions:

  • Do not use any names - don't use your real name, your boyfriend's or girlfriend's name or anyone else's name.
  • No info about addresses, email addresses etc will be published.
  • If we think anything you submit may identify who you are, we may need to alter it.
  • We reserve the right not to publish a story, to publish only part of it, to edit a story or remove stories from the web site at our discretion.
  • We can only publish stories about personal experience of abuse by partners or ex-partners (boyfriends, girlfriends etc). Unfortunately we can't publish stories about abuse by family members as this is not the focus of this site.
  • The purpose of this is to tell your story and assist others who are being abused. If you are currently being abused and want advice, you should contact a counselling service for assistance.
  • The purpose of this web site is to support those who have been abused. Anything that is not relevant to this aim will not be published.
